“The Origin of Organic Home" is the inspiring story of a mother’s love Miss Chia Gek Hong and determination to care for her son, Barnabas, who was born with Down syndrome and serious health issues. Faced with his inability to eat, excrete, or sleep without medical intervention, she turned to natural therapies and organic food to improve his health. Her efforts led to the opening of Malaysia's first organic store, "Skudai Organic Home," in 2002, dedicated to promoting healthy, eco-friendly living.

As her business expanded and rebranded into "Klang Organic Home," she also empowered special children by providing job opportunities. Barnabas, with his unwavering support, became one of Malaysia’s Top Ten OKU Entrepreneurs, gaining national recognition. Together, they contributed to charitable causes, promoting nutrition and sustainability.

Their efforts culminated in Barnabas’s invitation to meet the Sultan of Selangor, a moment of great pride. Their journey highlights resilience, love, and commitment to uplifting families with special needs children.

Through their organic food business, charity work, and commitment to educating others, Barnabas mother has made significant contributions to her community. She won awards for her work with special children and Hani Milk, a brand she created that reached international recognition. She also participated in various entrepreneurial competitions and courses, enriching her knowledge and growing her business.
BARNABAS LEONG WEI EN - PROFILE
Barnabas Leong Wei En is a young entrepreneur from Klang, Malaysia, who has become an inspiration through his resilience and dedication. Diagnosed with Down syndrome, Barnabas has defied expectations by actively engaging in business ventures and community initiatives.

Early Life and Education
Born and raised in Sekinchan, Barnabas faced early health challenges, including an imperforate anus, which required multiple surgeries during his childhood. Despite these obstacles, he demonstrated a strong will to overcome adversity. His educational journey included homeschooling, focusing on vocabulary acquisition and language skills, followed by enrollment in SMK Teluk Gadong, a school offering integration programs for students with special needs. Fluent in Malay, English, and Mandarin, Barnabas's communication skills are commendable.

Entrepreneurial Ventures
In 2020, Barnabas co-founded the Barnabas Blessing Store, an online platform offering a variety of products. His daily responsibilities encompass order management, package sorting, and conducting live sessions on e-commerce platforms. This venture not only showcases his entrepreneurial spirit but also serves as a testament to his commitment to independence and self-sufficiency.
Advocacy and Community Engagement
Beyond his business endeavors, Barnabas is actively involved in disability advocacy. He participates in programs like the SAY LEAD Entrepreneurial League, designed to empower individuals with disabilities through training in marketing, branding, and business strategies. His involvement in such initiatives highlights his dedication to promoting inclusivity and providing opportunities for the disabled community.
